News: Truck accident near Santa Rosa fatally injures driver

GUADALUPE COUNTY, NM – The driver of a commercial truck was killed after his vehicle crashed over the weekend, according to KRQE.

A man was driving a 2017 Freightliner commercial motor vehicle on I-40 eastbound when the vehicle lost control for unknown reasons. The CMV swerved onto the median, crashed into a barrier, and overturned.

The wreck happened at about 1:14 p.m. Sunday, at the 268-mile marker.

The impact of the crash fatally injured the driver at the scene of the crash site. The driver was a 32-year-old man from Michigan.

The cause of the accident is currently unknown, but authorities report that the driver had not been wearing a seat belt restraint.

The accident is currently being investigated by the New Mexico State Police.
