CUBA, NM – A driver was killed after his tractor-trailer crashed on the side of a highway over the weekend, KRQE reports.
A man driving a 2020 Volvo tractor-trailer was on US-550 northbound on Friday when the vehicle swerved off of the highway and overturned into a ditch.
The driver, a 68-year-old from Colorado, was fatally injured at the scene of the accident. Another passenger of the Volvo sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital via airlift. It’s unclear if his condition has improved.
The New Mexico State Police have ruled out alcohol as a cause of the accident. We will be following this story as the NMSP investigates.
