BERNALILLO COUNTY, NM – New Mexico State Police say a driver fled the scene after striking and killing a pedestrian Wednesday night.
This is an update to a previous story.
In a news release, state police identified the victim as 34-year-old Kevin Dwight Vigil of Albuquerque. Investigators determined that Vigil was walking across the southbound lanes of Interstate 25 near Tramway Boulevard sometime before 10:13 p.m. when he was hit by a southbound black sedan. Vigil was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the driver of the sedan kept on going after the crash without stopping to help. Anyone with information regarding the incident was asked to contact the New Mexico State Police.
