SANTA FE, NM – Two people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash following a police pursuit earlier today, the Albuquerque Journal reports.
Police pursued a suspect involved in a kidnapping on I-25. The suspect drove the wrong way into traffic and crashed their vehicle into two police units and another civilian car.
Emergency personnel responded to the accident at the 286-mile marker, at around 11 a.m. Two people, including an officer with the Santa Fe Department, were pronounced deceased at the site of the crash.
The suspect exited the vehicle and escaped on foot.
Santa Fe Police are still investigating.
