ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A pedestrian is in unstable condition after they were struck by a car on Saturday, KRQE reports.
A gray Honda sedan was driving west on Central Avenue when it hit a person in its lane of traffic.
The wreck happened at the intersection of Central Avenue and Chama Street. The Motors Unit with the Albuquerque Police Department responded to the crash before midnight on Saturday.
Emergency responders took the pedestrian to an area hospital for treatment of severe injuries. The identity of the pedestrian has yet to be released.
The Honda driver reported that he had been looking at his phone at the time of the accident. Police don’t believe that speed or alcohol caused the crash.
