ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Police say a pedestrian was struck and killed by a pickup truck in Albuquerque early Saturday morning, reports KRQE.

Investigators believe the pedestrian was crossing Coors Boulevard near the on-ramp for Interstate 40 at about 1 a.m. when they were struck by a large pickup truck going south on Coors.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said the driver of the pickup fled the scene after the crash.

It was not yet clear whether speed or alcohol were contributing factors in the incident as police continue their investigation.
