News: Pedestrian dead after being struck by cars on eastbound I-40

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Police in Albuquerque were at the scene of a deadly pedestrian accident on Interstate 40 Wednesday night, KOB reports.

The incident took place on I-40 east between Carlisle Boulevard and San Mateo Boulevard at about 10 p.m. Police said a person was throwing rocks at cars and then ran into traffic. The person, whose name was not released, was struck by several cars and sustained fatal injuries. No charges were expected to be filed against the drivers involved, police said.

I-40 east was shut down between Carlisle and San Mateo while the crash was being investigated.
