News: Pedestrian dead after being hit by vehicle on Jim McDowell Road near airport

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Albuquerque police were at the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident shortly after midnight on Thursday.

KOB reports a pedestrian in the middle of the road was struck by a vehicle headed south on Jim McDowell Road near the Double Eagle II Airport. The victim was declared dead at the scene. The person’s identity was not immediately released.

Police investigating the accident said speed and alcohol did not appear to have been contributing factors. They added that the roadway was not illuminated at the time. No information was released regarding the driver.
