ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A driver died early Saturday morning after they struck another vehicle head-on, ABQ Journal reports.
A white Chevy Tahoe was driving westbound on I-40 when it was struck by an Acura that was driving in the opposite direction. Emergency personnel responded to the scene at approximately 3:00 a.m. Saturday, near the exit towards Carlisle Boulevard.
The Acura’s driver was pronounced deceased at the site of the accident. The Tahoe’s driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The identities of both drivers have not yet been released.
Albuquerque police believe that excessive speeds and alcohol use were involved in the cause of the wreck. We will follow this story as the Albuquerque Police Department investigates.
