FARMINGTON, NM – New Mexico State Police reported they were on the scene of a fatal crash south of Farmington Tuesday afternoon.
The accident happened on Navajo Route 5 at mile marker 19, state troopers said in a tweet posted at 2:44 p.m. No details were provided on what led to the crash or the person who was killed.
All lanes of Navajo Route 5 were shut down between New Mexico Highway 371 and U.S. Highway 491. Drivers were advised to avoid the area and seek an alternate route.
