ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A pedestrian was fatally injured after he was hit by a car early this morning, KRQE reports.
A man was walking along a sidewalk on Central Avenue when a gray 2007 Toyota Camry swerved off of the road and struck him.
The accident occurred at about 6:40 a.m.
Officers with the Albuquerque Police Department responded to the crash on Central Avenue near Yale Boulevard.
The pedestrian passed away as emergency responders were taking him to UNMH.
Authorities believe slick roads from rain and high rates of speed were factors in the accident.
