News: Man charged with DUI after hit and run

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Police took a man into custody after he crashed into a parked car over the weekend, KRQE reports.

A man was traveling the wrong way along Lead Avenue on Sunday when his silver BMW struck a nearby car that was parked.

The crash happened near Lead Avenue’s intersection with Cedar Street. The driver fled the scene in an attempt to avoid the authorities, but was caught and detained near the intersection with Spruce Street.

It is unknown if anyone was hurt as a result of the crash.

The man was charged with DUI, as he showed signs of inebriation when he was arrested. The Albuquerque Police Department is currently investigating the crash.
