ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A traffic accident caused major slowdowns in North Albuquerque until the area was cleared this evening, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff.

A vehicle was traveling on Paseo Del Norte when it was involved in the accident.
Deputies with the BCSO responded to the wreck at about 7:57 p.m. today, at the road’s intersection with Rio Grande Boulevard.
The accident blocked two lanes of traffic, leaving only one lane open on Paseo Del Norte. Cleanup crews were able to clear the site of the accident and reopen the area at about 8:53 p.m.
It’s unknown what caused the collision to occur.
