News: Hit-and-run kills woman near San Jon

QUAY COUNTY, NM – Emergency responders pronounced an Oklahoma woman dead after a pedestrian crash last weekend, KFOR reports.

A vehicle was traveling east on I-40 on Saturday when it struck the pedestrian. The wreck took place at about 1 p.m., near San Jon. The driver fled the site of the accident.

Authorities identified the victim as a 49-year-old woman from Elk City, Oklahoma.

Additional details about the circumstances of the wreck have not yet been released. NMSP are still searching for the vehicle.
