News: Fatal motorcycle accident on Interstate 25 south in Santa Fe County

SANTA FE, NM – The New Mexico State Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that took place in Santa Fe County Friday evening.

Police released details of the accident that occurred on Interstate 25 near milepost 275 in south Santa Fe. According to investigators, 46-year-old Gilbert Gurule of Santa Fe was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle south on I-25 at about 6:10 p.m. when the bike went off the road and collided with a guardrail.

Gurule was pronounced dead after being taken to the Saint Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe. State police said alcohol does not appear to have been a factor in the accident.
