News: Drunk driver strikes, kills pedestrian

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – One person was killed on Saturday after they were struck by a vehicle in a hit and run, according to ABQ Journal.

A driver was traveling near the intersection of Coal Avenue and Tulane Drive SE when their vehicle ran into a nearby pedestrian.

The wreck happened at around 2:00 p.m. Saturday near Nob Hill.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. The driver departed the scene before waiting for authorities but was later taken into custody by the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office under the suspicion of drunk driving.
