News: Driver killed, passenger injured in Taos County rollover crash

TAOS, NM – A driver died and her passenger was injured after a rollover crash in Taos County last Thursday, the Taos News reports.

Investigators said 36-year-old Mary Elizabeth Duncan was driving a Honda Civic on West Rim Road when the vehicle rolled at around mile marker 6.

Duncan, who was not wearing a seat belt, sustained fatal injuries in the wreck. Her passenger, 58-year-old Joy Right Bridge, was extricated from the vehicle and taken by helicopter to an area hospital.

The Taos County Sheriff’s Office and local rescue squads responded to the scene. The roadway was shut down while the area of the crash was being cleared.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
