ALBUQUERQUE, NM – An accident involving a semi-truck claimed the life of one driver over the weekend, according to KOAT.
A commercial truck and one other vehicle were traveling on I-40 when they crashed into each other. The vehicle ended up being lodged under the truck, and its driver was pronounced dead by the authorities upon their arrival.
The wreck happened on Friday afternoon, near the exit of I-40 and Unser Boulevard.
The areas surrounding the crash site were shut down as officials worked to clear the site of debris. Traffic went back to normal after the lanes were reopened several hours later.
It’s unknown if the truck driver sustained any injuries after the accident. The identity of the vehicle’s driver has not yet been released. We will continue to follow this story for more updates.
