SIERRA COUNTY, NM – A driver was hospitalized after his vehicle crashed on Interstate 25 in Sierra County early Sunday morning.
The Sierra County Sentinel reports the accident took place on I-25 south at mile marker 58 sometime before 5 a.m. According to investigators, a 61-year-old man was driving a GMC 1500 south when the pickup truck drifted into guard cables in the median.
The driver, a resident of El Paso, Texas, was taken to Sierra Vista Hospital. No details were released on the extent of his injuries. The vehicle leaked fuel following the crash and fire crews responded for the cleanup, officials said.
The Sierra County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the accident.
