ROSWELL, NM – The Chaves County Sheriff’s Office reported it was at the scene of a serious single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning.
Deputies were dispatched to the area of Hobson Road and Y O Road near the Roswell airport, the sheriff said in a post at about 1:30 a.m.
Photos from the scene showed that a vehicle had crashed into a pole. The driver was taken to a local hospital and then flown to a trauma center due to the extent of the injuries. There were no further updates on the person’s condition. No one else was in the car at the time.
New Mexico State Police are handling the investigation, and were trying to determine whether alcohol was a factor in the wreck.
