ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Authorities have shut down part of I-40 eastbound following a single-car wreck last night, KQRE reports.
One vehicle crashed and flipped over on the highway at about 6:53 p.m. Sunday, according to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office. Emergency responders were called to the crash site on I-40 near Carnuel.
One occupant of the vehicle was killed as a result of the accident. The other passenger was left unharmed.
Motorists were redirected onto Route 66 as the eastbound lanes of the highway were closed down.
