SANTA FE, NM – One construction employee was killed and two others were injured in a vehicle crash near Artesia, according to KOB 4.
The woman was operating a truck in a construction zone on US Highway 285 when her vehicle was rear-ended by a commercial truck. The wreck happened north of Artesia on Monday, according to New Mexico State Police.
Emergency responders transported the woman to a hospital in Lubbock, Texas, where she later died from her injuries. Several other construction workers were hospitalized. The severity of their injuries are unknown.
State police are currently investigating the circumstances that led to the accident.
