News: Albuquerque man injured in car accident on Interstate 25

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A 19-year-old man was injured when his car crashed on Interstate 25 Sunday morning, the Sierra County Sentinel reports.

Emergency crews responded to the scene at mile marker 66 on I-25 shortly after 8 a.m. The driver, Andrew Vargas of Albuquerque, had been driving a Lincoln Continental north on the interstate and said he had fallen asleep behind the wheel.

The car came to rest in the median, and crews found that part of the guardrail was mangled. No details were released on the extent of Vargas’s injuries.

New Mexico State Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
