LOVING, NM – New Mexico State Police said an accident in Lea County Tuesday left two people dead and three others injured, YourBasin reports.
The crash occurred on Highway 128 just east of Loving. Investigators said 39-year-old Jessie Godfrey of Odessa, Texas was driving a Dodge Ram west on the highway when it crossed over into oncoming traffic.
The Ram struck an International Commercial Motor Vehicle, then was hit by a GMC pickup truck. Godfrey and another Texas man, 24-year-old Aaron Moreno of Midland, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other passengers in the Dodge Ram and the driver of the commercial vehicle were injured, but details on their condition were not released. Alcohol was not a factor in the wreck, police said.
