ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Two people were killed and another was seriously injured following a head-on collision on westbound I-40 Sunday afternoon.
According to KOAT7, the fatal accident happened on Route 66 Casino at mile marker 143 around 4 p.m.
The westbound lanes of I-40 were temporarily closed while local authorities investigated the accident but have since reopened.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
