SIERRA COUNTY, NM – An accident involving a pickup truck in Sierra County claimed the life of a man earlier this week, Las Cruces Sun News reports.
The driver was traveling south on I-25 around 8 a.m. when his Ford F-150 attempted to change lanes near the 63-mile marker and collided with a 2011 Freightliner. The impact caused the Ford to swerve off the highway and strike a nearby barrier.
The driver, a 69-year-old from Albuquerque, was ejected from the truck and died at the crash site. The Ford’s passenger was injured and taken to an area hospital for treatment.
State police report that alcohol was likely not a factor in the accident. We will follow this story as the investigation is ongoing.
