LAS CRUCES, NM – A crash north of Las Cruces early Saturday morning left one person dead and several others injured, the Las Cruces Sun News reports.
Dona Ana County Sheriff Kim Stewart said a driver lost control of a vehicle while going south on Elks Drive near the intersection with Montoya Drive at about 4:21 a.m.
The vehicle rolled multiple times and at least two of the occupants were ejected. One passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and other passengers were seriously injured and hospitalized.
Stewart said it was likely that speed was a contributing factor in the wreck.
