TORRANCE COUNTY, NM — A series of collisions late Thursday morning closed part of Interstate 40 near Clines Corners, according to KRQE.
The accidents impacted both eastbound and westbound lanes from two miles east of the unincorporated community to about 19 miles further east.
Officials have not released any information on the crashes, but the span of highway remained closed as emergency crews worked to clear the roadway. Motorists were advised to avoid the scene and find alternate routes.
It remains unclear whether anyone was seriously injured.
At the time of the report, severe weather involving high winds and heavy snow also kept a section of U.S. Highway 64 blocked between Raton and Clayton.
