
MCKINLEY COUNTY, NM — New Mexico State Police responded to a multi-vehicle crash Friday morning on Interstate 40 near east Gallup, according to KRQE.
Authorities said the accident occurred on the eastbound lanes at Exit 36 in the Fort Wingate area, about 15 miles east of Gallup. It was first reported by KRQE at 10:10 a.m.
Few details have been released, but NMSP asked motorists to exercise extra caution in the area due to road conditions at the time.
A section of I-40 was shut down in both directions as crews responded to the scene.
By 12:41 p.m., KRQE reported that the closure had been lifted, and all lanes were restored to normal traffic.
No injuries have been confirmed as of this writing.
