Multi-vehicle crash reduces NM-502 to single lane near El Rancho

SANTA FE COUNTY, NM — Multiple vehicles were involved in a wreck late Thursday morning on New Mexico State Road 502 near El Rancho, according to NM Roads.

The accident impacted a stretch of NM-502 at mile marker 11, just west of the Rio Grande and 4 miles west of El Rancho. It was first recorded in the NM Roads map index at 11:27 a.m.

Little information has been made available, but at the time of the report, only one lane was left open for passing traffic, creating delays in the area.

Motorists proceeding toward the scene were instructed to use extra caution as emergency crews worked to clear the vehicles.

It remains unclear at this time what led up to the crash and whether anyone was seriously injured.
