Multi-vehicle crash closes lane on I-25 NB near Santa Fe

SANTA FE COUNTY, NM — Authorities responded to a multi-vehicle wreck Tuesday morning on Interstate 25 near southwest Santa Fe, according to NM Roads.

The accident occurred on the northbound lanes between mile markers 264 to 266, near New Mexico State Road 8, about 12 miles southwest of the city. It was first recorded in the NM Roads map index at 7:10 a.m.

Details are limited at this time, but at the time of the initial report, the left northbound lane was blocked and emergency crews were on the scene.

Motorists were urged to use extra caution as they approach the area. Delays were expected.

As of 2:30 p.m., more than 7 hours later, no updates regarding the closure have been released, suggesting a major wreck.

It remains unclear exactly how many vehicles were involved, or whether anyone was seriously hurt.
