Motorcyclist killed in crash with vehicle in northeast Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a vehicle in northeast Albuquerque last week, KOAT reported.

Police were called to the area of Richmond Drive NE and Menaul Boulevard NE, where a Subaru and a Yamaha motorcycle crashed on Wednesday afternoon just before 1 p.m.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the Subaru was facing south on Richmond Drive at the stop sign to head east on Menaul Boulevard. As the Subaru headed south across westbound Menaul, the motorcycle was traveling west on Menaul approaching the intersection, and a T-bone collision took place between the vehicles.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The Subaru driver was not injured and stayed at the scene.

The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating the accident, and said that the speed of the motorcycle was a contributing factor in the fatal wreck.

Traffic slowed on Interstate 40 westbound due to crash

ALBUQURQUE, NM – A crash slowed traffic along a stretch of Interstate 40 in Albuquerque on Friday morning.

According to a post on NMRoads at 11:54 a.m., the accident took place on I-40 westbond at mile marker 160 near University Boulevard.

The interstate was reduced to two lanes while first responders worked the scene. Drivers were advised to proceed with caution and expect delays.

Accident shuts down roadway in Rio Rancho in both directions

RIO RANCHO, NM – Police alerted motorists to an accident affecting traffic in a portion of Rio Rancho on Saturday.

The Rio Rancho Police Department reported that Camino Encantadas was closed in both directions at Kodiak Road and Camino Venda due to the crash investigation.

Drivers were advised to avoid the area and seek an alternate route.
