SANTA FE COUNTY, NM — A 53-year-old man died Saturday night following a motorcycle crash off New Mexico State Road 14 near Los Cerrillos, reports KOAT.

The fatal wreck occurred near mile marker 30, south of Perro Canyon Road, in an area southwest of Santa Fe.

According to New Mexico State Police, Dirk Stronck, a Los Ranchos resident, was operating a motorcycle northbound when the bike veered into a guardrail.

Stronck succumbed to his injuries at the scene, confirmed officials.

No other victims or vehicles appear to have been involved.

An investigation by NMSP remains in progress, but preliminary findings indicate alcohol may have played a role in the accident.
