ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A motorcyclist was killed last night when he slammed into a parked semi-truck just north of downtown Albuquerque.

According to KRQE, the victim was part of a group of six motorcyclists doing tricks in the area prior to the crash. Moments after departing the group, the rider collided with the semi-trailer near the intersection of Commercial Street and Indian School Road.

Witnesses told police the rider attempted to brake before hitting the trailer but was unable to do so in time. The unidentified man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Investigators say speed played a role in the deadly crash. It is unclear if alcohol was a factor as well.
