Motorcyclist hospitalized after wreck on I-40 EB in central Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — One person was seriously hurt late Monday afternoon in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 40, north of downtown Albuquerque, according to KOB4.

Albuquerque Police said the accident happened on the eastbound lanes at 6th Street, near the Wells Park neighborhood. It was first reported by KOB4 shortly before 5:00 p.m.

The circumstances behind the collision remain unclear at this time, but officers arrived on the scene to find the operator of the motorcycle seriously injured. The victim was rushed to an area hospital.

A section of eastbound I-40 was shut down at the intersection during the emergency response.

No other details have been disclosed as of this writing.
