Motorcyclist hospitalized after crash on I-25 near Albuquerque International Sunport

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — One person was injured Sunday evening due to a motorcycle wreck on Interstate 25 in south Albuquerque, according to KOB4.

The accident happened on the southbound lanes just south of the Sunport exit (mile marker 221). It was first reported by the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office at 6:15 p.m.

Officials have not released the circumstances behind the crash, but the motorcycle rider was rushed to an area hospital where they were listed in stable condition.

All southbound lanes were closed in the immediate aftermath, and motorists were told to expect delays as crews worked to clear the roadway.

It was not immediately clear whether any other vehicles were involved.

By 8:23 p.m., more than two hours later, KOB4 reported that the southbound interstate had been reopened to traffic.
