Motorcyclist dies after colliding with pickup truck in Taos

TAOS, NM – A motorcycle and a pickup truck were involved in a fatal collision in Taos last week, according to the Santa Fe New Mexican.

The victim was identified as 33-year-old Joseph Maestas. Authorities said he was riding a motorcycle to work when he collided with a pickup truck on Paseo del Pueblo Sur. According to police, the driver of the pickup was making a turn into a lumber business at the time of the crash.

Maestas was pronounced dead at the scene. There was no word on whether the pickup driver was injured. The cause of the accident remains under investigtion.

BCSO called to crash at Rio Grande Boulevard and Alameda Road

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office issued a traffic alert Saturday morning following a crash in Albuquerque’s North Valley.

The advisory issued at 10:28 a.m. said that deputies were at the scene of the accident at the intersection of Rio Grande Boulevard and Alameda Road.

Multiple westbound lanes of Alameda and eastbound lines of Rio Bravo were shut down during the accident response. There were no immediate reports of injuries.

Multiple lanes shut down near Big I in Albuquerque due to accident

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Traffic was slowed near the Big I in Albuquerque on Tuesday morning due to an accident, KRQE reported.

A notification on NMRoads stated that the crash took place at mile marker 226 and led to multiple lane closures. The incident shut down two right lanes on Interstate 25 southbound near the Interstate 40 westbound ramp. The right shoulder of the interstate was also closed.

No details were released on the circumstances that led to the crash.
