Motorcyclist critically injured in collision with vehicle in Santa Fe

SANTA FE, NM – A motorcyclist was critically injured in a collision with a vehicle in Santa Fe on Friday night, according to the Santa Fe Police Department.

Police responded to the area of St. Francis Drive and Cerrillos Road shortly before 9:30 p.m. They found the motorcyclist, a 24-year-old Santa Fe man, unconscious in the roadway. He was airlifted to UNMH where he was listed in critical condition.

The driver and passenger in the other vehicle, a Chevrolet sedan, were two 16-year-old girls who were not injured. Police said the driver did not have a license but had a drivers learners permit. Both girls were released to the custody of their parents.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Santa Fe Police Department Traffic Unit.

Traffic in the area was affected for several hours due to the on-scene investigation.

Lanes closed on I-40 west at San Mateo Boulevard due to crash

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Drivers were alerted to a crash affecting traffic along a portion of Interstate 40 in Albuquerque during Tuesday evening’s commute.

An advisory on NMRoads at 5:46 p.m. reported that the accident took place on I-40 westbound at mile marker 162 in the area of San Mateo Boulevard.

The left two lanes of the interstate were closed while emergency crews worked the scene. Drivers were advised to expect delays and seek alternate routes.

Accident blocks traffic on Rio Grande Boulevard in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to APD Traffic, police were called to a motor vehicle accident in northwest Albuquerque on Tuesday night.

The incident happened in the area of Rio Grande Boulevard NW. Traffic was closed on Rio Grande Boulevard NW between Indian School Road NW and Bernardino Road NW.

No injuries were reported in the wreck.
