Motorcyclist critically injured in collision with SUV in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A collision on the west side of Albuquerque last week left a motorcyclist critically injured, KRQE reported.

The crash happened May 26 at the intersection of Unser Boulevard and McMahon Boulevard at about 11 p.m. According to the Albuquerque Police Department’s preliminary investigation, the driver of a Dodge SUV was heading eastbound on McMahon Boulevard and made a turn onto southbound Unser Boulevard.  A motorcycle going south on Unser went through the intersection and collided with the back of the SUV.

The motorcycle rider was ejected from the bike, and was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.  No injuries were reported for the occupants of the SUV.

Lane closed on Interstate 40 at River Bridge due to crash

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – The New Mexico Department of Transportation alerted drivers to a crash affecting traffic along a stretch of Interstate 40 on Tuesday afternoon.

According to a notification on NMRoads shortly after noon, the accident took place on I-40 westbound at mile marker 156, at the Rio Grande. The left lane of the interstate was closed at the River Bridge while the crews were responding. 

Drivers were advised to expect delays in the area.

Semi-truck accident shuts down stretch of New Mexico 528

RIO RANCHO, NM – Police responded to the scene of an accident involving a semi-truck in Rio Rancho on Monday afternoon.

A crash alert from the Rio Rancho Police Department at 2:39 p.m. stated that all southbound traffic was blocked on New Mexico 528 at Idalia Road as a result of the incident.

Police urged drivers to find an alternate route or avoid the area entirely.  There were no immediate reports of injuries.
