OTERO COUNTY, NM — A 68-year-old woman died Monday afternoon after a motorcycle she was riding collided with another vehicle near Tularosa, reports KRQE.
New Mexico State Police said the wreck occurred in an area south of the city. The Office of the Medical Investigator was called to the scene shortly after.
An early investigation indicates a 2019 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck was heading southbound when it veered out of its lane and hit a 2019 BMW motorcycle.
The female motorcycle passenger, a resident of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was pronounced deceased on the scene.
No information on the condition of the bike’s operator, a 73-year-old man, has been released.
NMSP also did not say whether the pickup driver was hurt or whether any charges have been made. At this time, investigators do not believe alcohol contributed to the fatal collision.
