Man sentenced for crash in Albuquerque that injured motorcyclist

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A judge sentenced a man to prison for a crash that injured a motorcyclist in Albuquerque last year, according to KRQE.

28-year-old Anthony Nez of Albuquerque was ordered to serve 18 months in prison for the accident took place in May 2025 in the area of Lomas Boulevard and Central Avenue.

Authorities said Nez was driving a Chevy truck at a high rate of speed when he struck a man riding a motorcycle, leaving him hospitalized.

Nez was reported to have fled the scene in the truck, which had no license plate. Nez and the vehicle were later found at an apartment complex, where police said he admitted to having been drinking. He was arrested on multiple charges.

Lanes closed on Interstate 25 near Socorro due to accident

SOCORRO COUNTY, NM – Emergency crews were at the scene of an accident in Socorro County on Thursday afternoon.

According to an advisory on NMRoads at 1:13 p.m., a CMV crash and fire shut down all lanes on Interstate 25 at mile marker 124 at the San Marcial exit near Socorro.

BCSO responds to crash on Coors Boulevard in South Valley

SOUTH VALLEY, NM – Drivers were advised of a crash affecting traffic in part of Albuquerque’s South Valley on Tuesday night.

In a traffic alert at 7:42 p.m., the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were at the scene of the accident at Coors Boulevard and Blake Road SW.

All lanes of northbound and southbound traffic were closed in the area while the wreck was being cleared. The roadway was reported to be reopened at 9:06 p.m.
