Man killed when vehicle crashes on Interstate 25 in Santa Fe

SANTA FE, NM – Police in Santa Fe are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a motorist on Tuesday night.

According to the department’s Faceboook post, police were called to the scene at the southbound exit of Interstate 25 onto northbound St. Francis Drive after the incident took place at about 8 p.m.

Officers arrived to find that a vehicle had rolled over and the driver had been ejected. He was then struck by multiple vehicles and was found dead by police.

The victim was identified as 31-year-old Angelo Romero of Santa Fe. The police department’s Traffic Unit and Crime Scene Unit were summoned to investigate the fatal wreck.

The St. Francis Drive exit from southbound Interstate 25 was closed, and drivers needing to travel northbound on St. Francis drive were asked to use the Old Pecos Trail exit.

Crash blocks traffic in both directions on El Pueblo Road

NORTH VALLEY, NM – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office issued a traffic alert Thursday morning following a crash in the North Valley.

The advisory at 7:03 a.m. stated that deputies were on the scene of the accident in the area of El Pueblo Road and 2nd Street. A light pole was struck as a result of the incident.

An update issued at 10:41 a.m. said that all lanes had been reopened.

Lanes shut down on northbound 2nd Street due to accident

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Drivers were alerted to an accident affecting traffic in a section of Albuquerque on Thursday evening.

According to a post on X by the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office at 6:36 p.m., the wreck took place in the area of Paseo del Norte Boulevard and 2nd Street. Two lanes of northbound 2nd Street were closed while emergency crews responded.

Drivers were advised to use caution in the area. All lanes were back open a short time later.
