Man found guilty for deadly head-on crash on US 84 near Santa Fe

SANTA FE, AZ — According to KOAT, a man has been found guilty of causing a fatal head-on collision while under the influence of drugs on US 84 between Hernández and Medanales on June 27, 2020.

Johnson was driving around 67 mph when he strayed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with another vehicle, killing Justice Gutierrez-Cruz and Felisha Barela.

Authorities discovered Johnson had Xanax, alcohol, oxycodone, and morphine in his system.

Johnson was charged with two counts of vehicular homicide.

Woman sentenced for deadly DWI crash on Tramway Blvd in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM — A woman was sentenced to prison for causing a deadly DWI crash on Tramway Blvd on April 3, 2022, according to KRQE.

Ana Cordova, 36, was driving a pickup truck the wrong way on Tramway Blvd when she collided with a motorcycle ridden by Danny Archuleta. Archuleta died in the crash.

Authorities located Cordova and found a pipe with possibly marijuana inside her pickup truck.

Cordova pleaded no contest to homicide by vehicle DWI and great bodily harm by vehicle. A judge sentenced Cordova to 12 years in prison on Tuesday.

Auto accident disrupts traffic on US 70 in Las Cruces

LAS CRUCES, NM — According to NMRoads, a crash blocked traffic on US 70 near mile marker 151 on Thursday.

Emergency crews responded to the incident around 8:09 a.m.

Officials have not released more details.
