Man dies after being hit by dump truck on Interstate 40 in Zuzax

ZUZAX, NM – A fatal collision shut down a portion of Interstate 40 on Thursday morning, according to a KOB report.

The incident occurred along westbound 1-40 at mile marker 176, about 10 miles east of Albuquerque. Bernalillo County Sheriff’s deputies arrived at about 9 a.m. to find that a man had been struck by a dump truck.

Despite attempted life-saving measures, he died at the scene. No details were released on the victim’s identity.

Westbound I-40 was shut down for the crash investigation, with traffic diverted at exit 178.

Semi-truck crash blocks lanes on I-40 in McKinley County

MCKINLEY COUNTY, NM – The McKinley County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a semi-truck accident on Interstate 40 Thursday night.

An advisory at 10:26 p.m. stated that the crash took place on eastbound I-40 at the 42.2-mile marker, east of Flying J. The semi was blocking both lanes of traffic. No injuries were reported.

Drivers were advised to seek alternate routes and use caution when driving, particularly due to the fact that roads were icy at the time.

Stretch of U.S. 491 shut down to truck accident

NEWCOME, NM – A portion of U.S. Highway 491 in Newcomb, NM was closed Friday morning after a truck accident, according to the Navajo Police Department.

A semi-truck crashed along the highway at mile post 63 at about 5:20 a.m., partially blocking both southbound lanes. No injuries were reported.

The truck was reported to have been cleared from the roadway about two hours later and all lanes were reopened.
