Man dies after apparent hit-and-run on St Francis Dr in Santa Fe

SANTA FE, NM — A man was fatally injured early Wednesday due to an apparent hit-and-run pedestrian crash in southwest Santa Fe, reports KOB4.

Santa Fe Police said the incident occurred on the northbound lanes of St. Francis Drive. Officers responded to the scene at around 3:30 a.m. after receiving a call about a person laying in the roadway.

The circumstances of the event remain unclear, but authorities arrived to find the male pedestrian, who appeared to have been struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.

First responders rushed the victim to Christus St. Vincent’s Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. No identifying details have been disclosed at this time.

As of this writing, investigators have not been able to release a description of the suspect vehicle, as no witnesses have come forward.
