ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A 31-year-old man was taken into custody following a hit-and-run collision early Thursday, April 10, that claimed the life of a pedestrian, reports KRQE.
The fatal incident unfolded near Central Avenue and San Mateo Boulevard, in the city’s Evans Addition neighborhood. Albuquerque Police were dispatched to the scene at about 3:00 a.m.
While an investigation remains in progress, officials say the suspect was behind the wheel of a Mazda truck that hit and struck the victim, who died as a result.
The suspect, who fled the scene following the crash, now faces a charge of “leaving the scene of a crash involving great bodily harm/death.”
No further information has been made public at this time.
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Authorities responded to a rollover collision in Albuquerque’s South Los Altos area Thursday evening, April 10, according to ABQ Raw.
The incident occurred at the corner of Central Avenue Northeast and Eubank Boulevard Northeast, shortly after 7:30 p.m.
Albuquerque Police and Albuquerque Fire Rescue crews were called to the scene, where one person was seen getting out of a white pickup truck that had overturned after striking a traffic signal.
While one person was confirmed injured, the severity of their condition was not specified.
Officials noted that at the time of the wreck, a section of the intersection was shut down. The rolled-over pickup truck and the downed traffic signal had the far-right lane of eastbound Central Avenue and the southbound lanes of Eubank Boulevard closed, respectively.

Albuquerque Police and Albuquerque Fire Rescue were dispatched to the area of Coors Boulevard and La Orilla Road Northwest, in the city’s Alban Hills neighborhood, shortly after 8:25 p.m.
While the circumstances behind the incident remain unclear at this time, one person was discovered seriously injured at the scene. The patient was transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital by the AFR’s Rescue 18 team.
Officials had a span of northbound Coors Boulevard from La Orilla to Roberson Lane shut down to accommodate an investigation.
