Man, 19, killed in head-on collision along U.S. Highway 380 east of Roswell

ROSWELL, NM – A 19-year-old man died in a head-on crash along U.S. Highway 380 last week, reports the Roswell Daily Record.

The fatal collision took place Sept. 24 near mile post 198 east of Roswell, and close to the border of Chaves and Lea Counties.

New Mexico State Police said their investigation indicated that the driver of a 2017 Ford passenger vehicle was going east on the highway at about 9:40 a.m. when the vehicle crossed over into the westbound lanes and collided with a Freightliner commercial truck. Both vehicles caught fire as a result. There was no word regarding any other injuries.

NMSP continues to investigate the accident, which shut down U.S. Highway 380 East for about six hours.

Accident disrupts traffic along I-40 east near Tijeras exit

TIJERAS, NM – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office alerted motorists to a crash affecting traffic on Interstate 40 Sunday evening.

According to the BCSO’s traffic alert, posted at 7:35 p.m., the incident happened along I-40 eastbound near the Tijeras exit. The interstate was reduced to one lane while emergency crews were responding to the wreck.

Drivers were advised to use caution when traveling through the area.

Northbound lane of Interstate 25 closed due to crash

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Traffic on Interstate 25 in Albuquerque was disrupted Sunday afternoon due to an accident.

NMRoads issued an advisory regarding the incident at 12:48 p.m. The wreck was reported to have shut down the right lane of I-25 northbound at mile marker 227, in the area of Comanche Road.

Drivers were advised to expect delays in the area until the crash could be cleared.
