Juvenile critically injured in minibike collision in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A juvenile was critically injured in a minibike accident in Albuquerque last week, according to KOAT.

The incident took place in the area of Edith Boulevard and La Donna Lane NE. According to Albuquerque police, two juveniles were riding their minibikes south on Edith Boulevard. One was in a northbound lane while the other was on the dirt shoulder of the roadway.

When the driver on the shoulder entered the oncoming traffic lane, the two minibikes collided head-on. One of the riders was ejected and rushed to the hospital in critical condition.

The accident is under investigation by the Albuquerque Police Department’s Fatal Crash Unit.

Multiple crashes reported on icy roads along U.S. 54

CORONA, NM – Multiple crashes were reported Saturday morning during icy conditions along U.S. 54 in Lincoln County.

According to an alert from NMRoads at 6:32 a.m., the accidents took place along a stretch from mile marker 148 to mile marker 149, south of Corona.

U.S. 54 was closed in both directions, and travel was discouraged for motorists due to the possibility of black ice. Drivers were advised to slow down, watch for emergency personnel and equipment in the area, and seek alternate routes.

5-vehicle accident causes road closures in South Valley

SOUTH VALLEY, NM – Authorities were dispatched to a multi-vehicle accident in the South Valley on Saturday afternoon.

Five vehicles were involved in the wreck, the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s reported in an advisory on X at about 4 p.m. BCSO deputies responded to the scene in the area of Loris Drive SW and Rio Bravo Boulevard.

All northbound lanes of Loris and one lane of eastbound Rio Bravo were closed in the area, and drivers were notified to expect delays. No serious injuries were reported.
