ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to KOAT, a person driving a Jeep ran over a bicyclist near Furniture Row on Menaul Blvd NE on June 30.
Malcolm Burton was riding a bicycle on Menaul Blvd NE when he saw a Jeep approaching him at high speeds. Burton and the Jeep driver exchanged words.
The Jeep driver followed Burton to the Furniture Row parking lot at 3230 Menaul Blvd NE and tried to hit him. Burton rode onto the sidewalk, where the Jeep driver collided with him.
The collision sent Burton into a railing. Burton went over the railing to escape from the Jeep driver. He suffered minor injuries. It is unclear if Burton went to the hospital.
Burton filed a report with the Albuquerque Police Department about the crash.
Driver fatally collides with pedestrian near Merritt Acres
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – A driver struck and killed a pedestrian near 4th St NW and Solar Rd NW on Friday, according to KOAT.
A person was driving a 2022 Ford pickup truck south on 4th St when another car in front of him swerved to the right. The driver saw a pedestrian in the middle of the road and outside a marked crosswalk. The driver then hit the pedestrian.
The collision sent the pedestrian flying 30 feet away.
Rescue crews transported the victim to an area hospital, where they died.
Officials have not released the victim’s name.
The Albuquerque Police Department is investigating the incident. They do not believe speed or impairment were factors in the crash.
Wreck reported near Tom Tenorio Park
SOUTH VALLEY, NM – According to BCSO, a traffic accident was reported at Coors Blvd SW and Arsenal Rd SW on Friday.
The incident happened around 1:50 p.m.
It is unclear if anyone was hurt in the collision.
