Hit-and-run driver wanted for fatal crash near Southeast Heights

ALBUQUERQUE, NM – According to KOAT, a hit-and-run driver is wanted for a deadly auto vs. bicycle crash that occurred near Kathryn Avenue Southeast and Carlisle Boulevard Southeast on January 19.

Jose Ivan Rios Sanchez allegedly struck the bicyclist and then fled the scene.

First responders pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The Albuquerque Police Department’s Motors Unit is investigating the incident.

The Albuquerque Metro Crime Stoppers identified Sanchez as the suspect on Monday.

Driver dies following fiery single-vehicle crash in Española

ESPAÑOLA, NM – A male driver died following a single-vehicle collision near Santa Clara Bridge Road westbound and New Mexico 30 on Sunday, according to KOAT.

The driver was speeding west on Santa Clara Bridge Road when he lost control of his vehicle and hit a boulder around 2 a.m.

Emergency crews found the vehicle engulfed by flames with the driver still inside. The driver died in the collision.

Officials have not released the driver’s name.

The Española Police Department is investigating the incident.

Auto accident disrupts traffic in Stinson Tower

STINSON TOWER, NM – According to BCSO, a wreck blocked traffic at Coors Boulevard Southwest and Bridge Boulevard Southwest on Sunday.

Emergency crews were called to the scene around 2:51 p.m.

Officials have not provided additional details.
